The Parent Council is made up of parents who volunteer to support the school and represent the wider Parent Forum. All parents and carers are members of the Parent Forum. There are currently 18 members of the Parent Council representing each class and early learning. The head teacher attends meetings and updates on activities at school. They also answer questions about staffing and teaching. A wide range of topics are discussed. We currently have two working groups for fund raising and safer routes to school.
The Parent Council meets four times a year, usually each term. Meetings have been online but have now resumed in person at the school. You can currently also join meetings remotely with MS Teams. Our AGM is in September each year where we elect new members and office bearers. Our meetings are open to all parents and we invite you to attend. Class representatives can also raise things on your behalf.
We have a constitution and a bank account. Funds are used to support learning, school trips, equipment, materials and the school environment. Our main fund-raising events are the winter fayre and a bingo night. Thanks to all those who help!
We have recently supported the school with Seesaw subscriptions, iPad hard cases, netball kits, new magazines, teacher resources, playground activity boxes (chosen by pupils), balance bikes for bikeability training, P7 leaving trip and picnic benches for the playground.
We helped the school create this new website and are currently campaigning for improvements to road safety and safer routes to school.
Aims
